COMPETITIONS (ON CAMPUS & OFF CAMPUS)

  • To promote the interest of the students and make them know about the culture and tradition of our motherland, cultural training and cultural competitions are conducted. 
  • Students are encouraged to participate in various inter collegiate competitions and conferences/seminars 
  • Academic guidance and financial assistance are given to students to participate in various inter-collegiate, State / National level competitions and conferences. 
  • Proper training is given to the students to perform well in the competition and programmes. 
  • In the general assembly, the certificates and medals won by the students in competitions and conferences are given by the President and Secretary/ Principal. This encourages them and also motivates others to participate in such competitions. 
  • Travel allowance is given to the students to participate in various cultural and sports events at Intercollegiate, University and State Level. 
  • The students are accompanied by the staff whenever they go out of the campus. 
  • Information of the events is displayed on the departmental and common notice boards. 
  • Students participate regularly in the Youth Festival conducted by Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai thereby,  bringing many laurels to the institution. 
  • Every year, the College conducts Intramural competitions in sports for Volleyball, Kho-Kho, BasketBall, Kabbadi, Ball Badminton, Badminton, Table Tennis and Athletics. Overall Rolling Shield, Overall Athletic Cup and Individual Championship is given during the Annual Sports Day. 
  • Friendly Matches between students of various Departments and Department-wise March-Past Competitions are also conducted. 
  • Merit certificates and prizes are presented to the winners and runners in College Annual Sports Day Celebrations. 
  • The winners of Sports and Games are applauded in the General Assembly and their photos are displayed on the General Notice Board. The photos of University Blues are published in the College Annual Magazine and Website.
  • The Fine Arts committee provides a gamut of opportunities and encouragement for the development of creative, aesthetic and artistic talents of the students through various cultural activities in “Youth Talentia”. 
  • Fine Arts Committee, which fosters cultural heritage through creative activities, organizes “Youth Talentia”, the Dance Club, the College Band, the College Union and the affiliated associations, impart training in developing skills in fine arts and cultural activities and prepare them for collegiate / inter-collegiate competitions. 
  • Religious festivals like Ganesh Chathurthi, Navarathri, Saraswathi Pooja, Vijayadasami, Pongal and New Year are celebrated. 
  • In collaboration with Ramakrishna Math, Madurai and Vivekananda Kendra, the college conducts ‘Bharatha Panpattu Thervu’ on Bhagavad Gita and Swami Vivekananda’s Principles which motivate the students to know their heritage and culture. 

ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED OUTSIDE THE COLLEGE

  • All the Departments encourage the students to participate in inter-collegiates competition and cultural events. 
  • The students are encouraged to present/participate in State, National and International Seminars, Conferences and Workshops in various institutions. 
  • Students participate in Games and Athletics at Inter-collegiate / District / State / National level with zeal and enthusiasm. 
  • Students eagerly participate in the Annual Youth Festival organized by Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai and in other inter-collegiate competitions.
