DEPARTMENT PROFILE
The Department of Physics was established in 2003 and upgraded as a Postgraduate Department in 2012. Our department has excellent infrastructure facilities with well-equipped laboratories for UG and PG students. More than 600 Textbooks in our Department library. Our department provides quality education and promotes knowledge in the frontier of physics and also inspires the students to develop independent thinking to achieve their goals. Apart from teaching, all the department faculty involve themselves in research activities. Their fields of research include Crystallography, Thin film, Nanomaterials and Density Functional Theory. As a consequence, they have published many research papers in journals and also presented papers in National and International level Conferences.
Every year Our department conducts seminars and exhibitions on various topics. In 2016, we organized a National level seminar in collaboration with Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant. Last year we organized a webinar through an online platform for the welfare of the students by Eminent Professors. E-quiz and online Certificate Course conducted for the students at the National level and provided E Certificates in 2020.
